As of 2.0 update, I was able to complete this request with only 4 inkays, which I had attempted prior to the update and did not work
I keep having 1/6 Inkay get stuck at the end. He is blocked from gettin in position and thus stops the rest from jumping. (This did not happen when I ignored the Inkay that heads to the alternate route)
There are 6 Inkay in total; one in area 1 moves past area 2, into the alternate course option. Feeding it again makes it move to the end, giving you a 6-Inkay photo-op.
