How to Clear Sylvan Sentinel's Secret Side

Use Scan to Get Espurr Down

Near the start of the course for Forest Research Level 3, You'll find an Espurr atop some rocks. Use Scan to prompt it to come down.

Use Fluffruit to Guide Trevenant and Espurr to Each Other

Once Espurr has descended, use Fluffruit to lead her to the Trevenant that usually blocks the alternate path.

Toss an Illumina Orb at Both of Them To Let Them Glow and Interact

Once they are close enough to each other, let each of them glow with an Illumina Orb. Espurr will carry herself up onto Trevenant, and Trevenant will gently let Espurr perch on her. Take a photo of Trevenant and submit this photo for evaluation to complete this quest.
