To take a 1 Star photo of Ninetales, go to the Winter season of the Forest course research-level 3. Then, take the second alternate path of the Forest course to enter the Sunny Spot area.
In the second part of the Sunny Spot area, Ninetales will jump from the left to the path in front of you. Take a close-up photo of Ninetales before it goes away to achieve 1 Star Diamond.

For a 3 Star photo of Ninetales, go to the Winter season of the Forest course research-level 3 and look to the hills on the right side. Once Ninetales appears and walks closer to the edge of the hill, throw a Fluffruit at it. Zoom in on your camera and take a photo of Ninetales while it is raising its tails up to achieve 3 Star Diamond.
