How to Clear Lycanroc's Reply
Prevent Lycanroc from Descending the Rock Formation
As you reach the hump after the first few sand tornados, look to your right to spot the Lycanroc (Middday Form) atop the rock formation.
Aim your camera at her and begin using Scan. This will make sure she will not descend the rocks. You'll know you're doing it right if she turns around.
As You Scan Select the Path Towards Lycanroc
With your camera focused on Lycanroc, don't forget to scan and head to the correct path. This should be pretty quick.
Continue Scanning Until She Reaches the Crystabloom
About halfway across the formation, Lycanroc will rest next to the Crystabloom, continue scanning to usher her forward.
Continue Scanning and Lycanroc Will Head Towards the Cliff Edge and Howl
As Lycanroc reaches the cliff edge, be prepared to zoom in and snap the photo. She will howl twice before descending the opposite end of the cliff.

Got it first try on lvl 3. All I did was scan once when on top of the hill and she turned around. Then I scanned to choose the alt path, and panned back to Lyconrock who was running towards Mandibuzz. Once it flew away, she ran to the end of the cliff and did the howl. Nothing else was done.
