This is a guide to completing Triple Threat, a request in New Pokemon Snap (Pokemon Snap 2) for the Nintendo Switch. Here you can find what kind of photo you need, and how to take it, in order to clear Triple Threat, as well as the reward!

How to Clear Triple Threat
Pass Through the Swamp Route
To complete the request you need to pass through the swamp route of the Jungle. Before you reach the swamp, toss an Illumina Orb at the Crystabloom to reveal footprints. Scan the footprints to access the swamp route.
Play the Melody to Attract Yanmega
Before you go through the grass and into the swamp, play the Melody. A Yanmega should come out of the brush to your right and fly away.
Get Ariados and Yanmega to Fight
Once you are in the swamp, play the Melody again to attract Yanmega. The Ariados from inside the hole will come out to fight with the Yanmega.
Toss an Illumina Orb at Ariados
Once Ariados is face to face with the Yanmega, toss an Illumina Orb at it. This will attract the two other Ariados from the grass and they will all start facing the Yanmega. Take a photo of the Ariados as they use String Shot on Yanmega. Though both Ariados and Yanmega must be in the frame to count for the request, the main subject must be Ariados.

Anonymous over 2 yearsFor the life of me I can’t get this. I got it once a couple weeks ago but only got the Ariados pic, and I need the Yanmega for a 4 star. Followed everyone’s directions exactly and it either never shows up in the swamp at all, or it flies overhead instead of stopping at the Ariados

Ok I got it. There are definitely steps posted that don’t need done. All you need to do is as you come up to the Crystabloom, play the melody and you’ll see a Yanmega sitting on a tree to the right, fly towards the swamp. Then just enter the swamp. Play the melody once in the swamp (out of the tall grass) and Yanmega shows up. Hit that 3rd Ariados after it wakes up and challenges Yanmega. Melody at the beginning does nothing, neither does a FF at the Ariados, it’ll go into the swamp regardless
