Take the first alternate route of the Cave course and lure out Diance by tossing Illumina Orbs at the two Carbink and the Mawile at the bottom of the gem cave. Once Diance reveals itself, toss an Illumina Orb at the Diance to calm down the other Mawile that is further into the cave. Take a photo of the now calm Mawile.

To take a 2 Star photo, you need to make Diance reveal itself and toss an Illumina Orb at it. You can follow the same steps to reveal Diance as Mawile's 1 Star photo. Use your scanner to make Mawile gasp and take a photo of that moment.

Inside the gem cave at Research Level 2 or higher of the Cave course, you can find a Mawhile standing on a rock platform with its head turned away from you. Hit the Mawile with a Fluffruit and take a photo as it gets mad and opens the mouth on the back of its head.
