Finish A Walk Among the Tombstones
To unlock Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge, players must complete the A Walk Among the Tombstones Trailblaze Mission. This is part of the Cat Among Pigeons mission series.

Unlock Early with Finality's Vision
If you're at Trailblaze Level 21 or higher, it's possible to unlock the event without clearing the pre-requisite mission above! Finality's Vision will temporarily be available during the event period to let you start the event early.

Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge Stage 3 involves Aventurine using his Ultimate to quickly increase the Giggle Gauge as well as a chance to trigger the Surprise Gift early. Bring characters who can generate energy for your team so Aventurine can spam his Ultimate!

Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge Stage 4 involves Feixiao attacking as much as possible. Take advantage of her Talent to generate Flying Aureus stacks and fill up the Giggle Gauge. Target the enemy with the highest health with Feixiao's Ultimate since her Surprise Bonus lets her damage other enemies during her Ultimate.

Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge Stage 5 also involves Feixiao attacking as much as possible. Take advantage of Cerydra's Peerage buff to let Feixiao use her skill twice. Make use of Sparkle's Surprise Bonus so Feixiao can keep using her skill for free to generate more Flying Aureus stacks.

Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge Stage 6 involves Sampo using his Ultimate to trigger Surprise Gifts. Take advantage of Sparkle's Surprise Bonus to freely use Sampo's skill whenever it's his turn. Bring someone who can help generate energy or advance forward the team.

Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge Stage 7 mostly revolves around making use of the Surprise Gifts and Surprise Bonuses. Ideally, you would want to put Cerydra after Feixiao to double the amount of Flying Aureus she receives, or after Sparkle since her Surprise Gift's damage scales with the Giggle Gauge value.
You would also want to bring either Sampo or Aventurine to trigger the Surprise Gift without having to wait for its turn.

Challenge Various Combat Stages
Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge will require players to clear various combat stages. Each stage will have different waves of enemies and a new one will unlock daily.
Open Surprise Boxes
When challenging a stage, a Surprise Box will be in the action order. Some or all characters in your team will be designated as Comedians.
The Surprise Box will open
when its turn is up and its effects will vary depending on the Comedians on your team. Having multiple Comedians in your team can trigger multiple effects!
Charge Up Surprise Boxes
Surprise Boxes can get charged up, resulting in stronger effects. Charging them seems to depend on which Comedians are present on your team, so keep that in mind when building your teams!
