Best Team for Day 1
Acheron	Black Swan	Kafka	Gallagher

The best team for Day 1 consists of the Trial Characters that are available for the stage. Acheron, Black Swan, and Kafka will be the team's DPS while Gallagher is the healer.

Best Support Functions for Day 1

Support Function	Buff Effect
Fear Vulnerability	Grit Phase 2 (Option) When there are no Trotters on the battlefield, turns a non-boss target into a Trotter and inflicts them with Shudder. When the Trotter is defeated, inflicts all enemies with a debuff that increases the DMG they receive.
Final Blow	Grit Phase 3 (Option) Increases the damage dealt by allies' Ultimates.

The support functions chosen focus on buffing the DMG of the three DPS of the team and also their Ultimates. Acheron will greatly benefit from the Final Blow buff since she will be the one who is going to use her Ultimate frequently.

How to Beat Trotter Effect

Focus Your Attacks on the Bosses

All attacks, including Skills and Ultimates, should mainly be used against the bosses. The normal enemies on the field will naturally die from the AoE DMG and DoTs from your characters' abilities.

But, if a Trotter is about to escape, consider finishing it off to accumulate more Grit Value.

Reach Sam During the Second Cycle

Based on our test runs, you should already be fighting Sam during the 2nd cycle to perfect Day 1. This allows you to have 3 rounds left to defeat Sam. If you fail to beat Sam, just retry again.

Aim to Reach Grit Phase 4

Aim to reach Grit Phase 4 immediately since this is where enemies, especially the bosses, receive increased DMG. Also, the energy of all allies will be fully regenerated during this phase.

In Grit Phase 4, spam your characters' Ultimates to defeat the Trotters on the field. This allows you to stack Fatigue, the buff that increases the DMG the enemies will receive.

Use Acheron's Ultimate First

Use Acheron's Ultimate first so she can start gaining Slashed Dream stacks again from her allies' abilities. This way, you can use her Ultimate several times during Phase 4.

After using Acheron's Ultimate, use the other characters' Ultimates and Skills immediately. Pay attention to Acheron's Slashed Dream stacks and use her Ultimate whenever it is available.

Avoid Healing Unnecessarily

You barely need to heal your characters on Day 1. When you use Gallagher's heals unnecessarily, you are going to consume a Skill Point, which is better used by a DPS from the team. So, only heal someone if they are at the brink of death.

◆ Activate Grit Mechanics in battle to accumulate Grit Value and elevate Grit Phase. ◆ Defeat the Trotter to accumulate a large amount of Grit Value.

Tides of War Day 1 Support Functions

Support Function	Grit Phase & Buff Effect

Enduring Effect	Grit Phase 2 (Option) When there are no Trotters on the battlefield, turns a non-boss target into a Trotter and inflicts them with Wind Shear. When the Trotter is defeated, inflicts all enemies with a random DoT effect.
Final Blow	Grit Phase 3 (Option) Increases the damage dealt by allies' Ultimates.
War of Attrition	Grit Phase 3 (Option) Increases DoT Taken by enemies.
Insta-Grogginess	Grit Phase 4 (Fixed) Increases DMG received by all enemies. After entering "Grit Phase 4: Power Awoken", all non-boss enemies are turned into Trotters. Each Trotter defeated increases the DMG received by all enemies.

Phase 2 and 3 each have two Support Functions you can choose from. You can only pick one for each phase.
