How to Unlock Critter Pick
Complete When the Stars of Ingenuity Shine Continuance Mission
To unlock the Critter Pick Event, you must complete When the Stars of Ingenuity Shine Trailblaze Continuance Mission which part of the Crown of the Mundane and Divine Trailblaze Continuance Series.

Critter Pick Guide Summary
- Step 1: Unlock the Lifeform Oven to Nurture Critters!

Unlock the the Lifeform Oven
During the Critter Pick event, you must collect various cat-like critters by combining parent creations in the Lifeform Oven. It will be unlocked and introduced to you during the Critter Pick: Nurture mission that starts the event!
Target Base Traits via Nurturing Goals
Select two parent critters who carry the base traits you want to combine. To specifically target these traits, you must set the Nurturing Goal at the top right corner. These are rare creation recipes, which you can also view in the Research Handbook.
You can also combine creations to have the result inherit multiple target traits. Combining critters who already have most of the traits you need will decrease the chances of getting an unwanted trait in the mix!
What Base Traits Can Be Combined?

The Skin, Filling, and Pattern are the three base traits that can be combined when nurturing creations. The Skin refers to the cake-like shell of the critter while the Filling is the critter's main body color. Lastly, the Pattern refers to white markings on the critter's fur.
Increase your Resolution Rate
As you continue to repeat the nurturing process, your Resolution Rate for the set Nurturing Goal will rise. This will increase your chances of a Mutation occuring! During a Mutation, you can feed the critter a material to grant it special eyes or skin decorations.
When a Special Mutation is triggered, the resulting critter will be a rare creation! If the Resolution Rate is at 80% or higher, the chances of getting a Special Mutation are greater, so just continue nurturing creations until you get it!
Make Rare Creations to Progress
Getting rare creations is one of the main goals of the event, and there are a total of 10 to collect. Excluding a hidden one, recipes for rare creations are unlocked as you progress the event. With each Research Level Goal, you will get 3 new rare creations to make.
All Rare Creations in Critter Pick
Continue Raising your Research Level
To progress the event, you'll need to raise your Research Level to unlock more event missions and rare creation recipes. You can do this by making a rare creation for the first time or discovering new Creation Traits in the Research Handbook!
Set Accommodation Areas for Critters
Eventually, you'll unlock three Accommodation Areas during Critter Pick: Care. Each area can hold up to 3 critters, and you're free to arrange them as you please. Critters with similar traits will get along, so try putting multiple copies together and see what happens!
Explore the Space Station as Peppy
You will eventually get to play as Peppy in the Detective Peppy Interlude quest! These Warring Expeditions are stealth segments where you must navigate areas of the Space Station without getting noticed by enemies.
Your main objectives in each stage are to collect all origami cranes in the area while also saving any of Ruan Mei's creations that need help!

Unlock More Traits to Get All Critters
Even after completing the main objectives of the event, you can still nurture creations in the Lifeform Oven to unlock any traits that still haven't been discovered. Completing the Creation Trait Index will essentially give you full access to all possible trait combinations!
What Determines the Critter Name?
Although there are many possible trait combinations, critters will all fall under a certain name depending on their Eyes, Filling, and Skin.
The Eyes will determine the first word in the name while the Filling will determine the second word. Then, the Skin will determine the last word in the name.

Critter Pick: Nurture is the first quest in the Critter Pick Adventure Mission Series for the event. Asta introduces the Lifeform Oven system to start making critter creations.

Critter Pick: Care is the second quest in the Critter Pick Adventure Mission Series for the event. The mission introduces the Creation Accommodations where you can house your critters in appropriate places!

After the Critter Pick: Care Adventure Mission, you get a message from Asta about Peppy needing help in recovering a curio that Ruan Mei's Creation stole. The quest will prompt you to complete all three stages of the It Started With a Man and a Dog Warring Expedition.

Critter Pick: Reunion
Critter Pick: Reunion is the final quest in the Critter Pick Adventure Mission Series for the event. Here, you must take a group photo of the critter creations and send them to Ruan Mei!
