How to Go Back to Mexico

Complete Order 012 to unlock the option to return to Mexico in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (DS2). Read on to learn all the ways to return to Mexico after you reach Australia.

Order 012

To go back to Mexico, you'll need to unlock the DHV Magellan's fast travel feature. This can be done by completing Main Order No. 012 - Investigate the Unusual Tar Currents near F1.

After you complete your first delivery to the Musician, Order 012 will become available. Before you accept it though, make sure you're stocked up on weapons, ammo, and backpack upgrades since this entire mission will be a boss fight against a massive mech.

Once you've linked West Fort Knot to the chiral network, return to the DHV Magellan. After the cutscene, you'll wake up in your Private Room where Tarman fills you in on the new fast travel feature you've unlocked.

Open the Ring Terminal Map and Chart a Course for Mexico

To fast travel back to Mexico, simply open your Ring Terminal by pressing the Options button, hold X to open the Chart Course screen, then hit R1/L1 to switch over to the map of Mexico. Once there, it's as easy as selecting a facility you've unlocked and hitting X to embark.

Select an unlocked facility and hit X Button (Embark) to fast travel to it.

Pass Through the Plate Gate

Note that fast travel is unlocked after Order No. 012 but before reaching this Order, you can still travel back to Mexico through the Plate Gate by simply walking or driving through it.
