Construct a sign by holding the down button of the D-Pad in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach (DS2). Learn how to place signs, the different types of signs, and all their effects in this article.

How to Place Signs
| How to Place Signs | |

| 1 |  Go to the spot where you want to put your sign on. Hold the Down button of the D-Pad to open the Signs wheel menu. |
| 2 |  On the Signs wheel menu, go pick any sign of your choosing. Once you are satisfied with your choice, press X to construct that sign. |
| 3 |  After pressing X, the sign that you constructed will be automatically placed on where you are currently standing. If you want to dismantle the sign, go near it and hold the Options button. |

| Amazing! | You'll receive a round of applause when you approach from a distance. |
| Time for a Rest | Porters who walk past will be encouraged to take a break. |
| Bon Voyage! | Porters will receive warm parting words as they walk past. |
| Keep On Keeping On | Approaching this sign restores your stamina as you walk past. |
| Don't Let the Heat Get You Down! | Approaching this sign makes you impervious to heat. |
| Stay Warm! | Approaching this sign makes you impervious to cold. |
| You Got This! | Approaching this sign restores your stamina as you walk past. |
| Good Work, Lou! | Sign that plays one of Lou's favorite sounds. Lou's mood will improve when you approach from a distance. Max of 10 can be placed at once. |
Communication signs are meant to encourage you on your journey. They are meant to uplift other players while also giving different types of benefits to the player like restoring your stamina or becoming impervious to heat or cold.
Fun
| Rock Paper Scissors | Placing this sign next to another porter's will allow you to play rock paper scissors. You cannot play rock paper scissors with more than two signs, and at least one sign must have been constructed by someone else. |

| Wink | Its design will change when you approach it from a distance. |
| Target | This sign will spin around when shot. |
| Speed Up | Sign that provides a temporary speed boost to vehicles when you drive through them. Max of 10 can be placed at once. |
Fun is a type of sign that you can interact with. Signs range from smiley faces changing how they look when you approach from a distance to a sign that allow you to play rock, paper, and scissors, or even a sign that provides speed boosts to vehicles if you run through them..

Symbols are signs that are used to indicate what you did in the spot where you put the sign on. These signs are placed so you can help other players determine their next course of action in the area.

Guide Info signs are usually used to indicate Dangers or Hazards in the area. They can also be used to mark key locations that range from important mission areas to Photo opportunities for your fellow porters.

Online Aid Requests are signs that are used to ask help from other porters. These signs can range from requesting to build a structure to help you progress, materials, tools, weapons, or help defeat nearby enemies.
Note that you can only construct these if you are playing online.
