The Social Strand System makes a return in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach, where players can help each other using items, structures, and signs. Read on to learn more about the game's multiplayer online features and whether a PlayStation Plus subscription is required.
Multiplayer Online Features
Social Strand System Returns
Kojima Productions has confirmed that the asynchronous multiplayer system, known as the Social Strand System from the original game, will return in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach.
This system allows players to help each other in the game through the use of shared items, structures, and signs. Actions of other players, such as building roads or structures and the routes they travel, will become visible to the player once they have successfully connected areas of the map.
No Direct Co-Op Gameplay
As with the original game, Death Stranding 2 On the Beach's multiplayer options is limited to the Social Strand System. There is no co-opperative gameplay where players can physically interact with each other in the game world.
Do You Need a PlayStation Plus Subscription?
No, PS Plus Subscription Not Required
According to PlayStation, a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required to access the Death Stranding 2's Social Strand System. Players can freely use the game's asynchronous multiplayer features, as long as they have an internet connection.
