Urinating in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach (DS2) can be done in a private room and out in the field. Learn how to urinate and what the effects of piss are.

How to Piss and Urinate

Head to the Shower while in a Private Room

Use Toilet/Shower

To urinate when Sam is in a Private Room, move the camera toward the door and select the option Use Toilet/Shower . While the sequence visually shows only Sam showering, this action simultaneously counts as him peeing.

Private Rooms can be accessed at facilities and aboard the DHV Magellan.

Equip Urination then Hold L2 + R2 When Outside

Urination

To pee out in the field, you must first equip Urination. To do so, hold the right directional button to bring up your radial menu, then navigate to the bottom-left option and press X. Once equipped, hold L2 to Get Ready, and then hold R2 to urinate.

Chiral Crystal Extraction

Private Room

Using the Shower in a private room collects Sam's body fluids for chiral crystal extraction. These extracted crystals automatically add to your current total. For an easy source of chiral crystals, always use the toilet whenever you visit a facility.

Grow Mushrooms for Cryptobiotes

Grown Mushroom

When Sam urinates out in the field, it leaves behind a mushroom on the ground. Whenever you encounter another player's sign with a mushroom, it means they've urinated where that mushroom is located.

When multiple players urinate in the same spot, the mushroom grows larger, and cryptobiotes will eventually appear.

Repel BTs

Hunters

Sam's urine can also repel BTs such as the Gazers and Hunters. When hit, the target BT gets damaged due to Sam being a Repatriate.

Consider using Urinate as a cheap method of defeating BTs, if you know you're in not in harm's way like outside of a hunter's tar zone.
