Special Alloys are a rare material resource used for fabrication and upgrades in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (DS2). Read on to learn how to farm Special Alloys and what Special Alloys are used for in-game.

Use the Mine North of F1

Special Alloys Mine

During Order No. 013, you’ll repair and unlock the Mine North of F1. After completing this order, the mine remains accessible and lets you exchange 2,000 Chiral Crystals for 4,800 units (480 kg) of Special Alloys.

This is a substantial amount, enough to keep your material storage well-stocked for a long time. The mine is also connected to a monorail, making it easier to transport materials back to West Fort Knot and DHV Magellan, if the ship is stationed nearby.

Can Be Found in Brigand Camps

Special Alloys Loot

Special Alloys can be found in Hostile Brigand Camps, though they’re less common than other materials. Use your scanner to search for rare Special Alloy cargo, which can occasionally appear in large containers holding 240 units (24.0 kg). You may also come across smaller packs of 80 Special Alloys, either on defeated Brigands or scattered throughout the area.

Take Special Alloys From the Shared Cargo Locker

Special Alloys Shared Locker

You might come across large amounts of Special Alloys in the shared lockers on the DHV Magellan or other areas connected to the Chiral Network from time to time. You can either keep these for yourself or deposit them into the area's material storage. Other useful materials can also be stored inside.
