| Icon | How to Use |

 | Show Pins This button will toggle between showing and hiding all the pins that you have already marked as acquired. |
 | Fullscreen This button will change the map display to fill the browser window. |
 | Search Mode Toggle This button will display a search bar which you can use to search for an individual pin by its name. |
 | Icon Mode Toggle In Search Mode, this button will toggle you back to Icon Mode, removing the search bar and displaying the icons again. |
 | Counter Tracks the number of pins you have marked as acquired. Click this area to see Counters for all pin types. |

These are Facilities where you can accept and complete Orders. These locations are places where you can access your private room and sleep. |
 Shelter |
These are basic locations where you can accept and complete Orders. |
 Observatory |

 Plate Gate |
The Plate Gate is a mysterious mirror-like gateway that links Mexico to Australia. Use this gate to fast travel between continents. |
 Sam's Shelter |
This is Sam's secret hideaway and where the game begins. Serves as the destination for Order No. 001. |
 Former Geophysics Research Lab |
Encountered during Order No. 005. This is where you meet Deadman and learn of his fate. This location also has a private room. |
 Rainy's Shelter |
The shelter of Rainy, a major character of the story that you meet during Order No. 015. |
 Heartman's Lab |
Arrived at during Order No. 023. This is where you reunite with Heartman. |
 The Motherhood |
Arrived at during Order No. 026. This is where you meet the Doctor. |
 Mines |
Mines are optional areas where you can mine for large quantities of various materials and resources. |

 Hot Spring |
After interacting with the Miracle Spring near The Motherhood, you can dig your own Hot Springs at certain spots in Australia. Hot Springs work as fast travel points and can also grant beneficial buffs and effects. |
 Cameos |
There are several cameos from celebrities, directors, actors and people from the games and entertainment industry in Death Stranding 2. See all actor cameos and their known works! |
 Auto Paver |
Auto Pavers are machines scattered across Australia that help Sam build roads for easier and faster transportation. |
 Tracklayer |
Tracklayers are machines scattered across Australia that help Sam build Monorail tracks for easier and faster transportation of large quantities of materials. |

How to Open Map in Death Stranding 2
Open Map with Options Button
The map becomes available as soon as you reach Order No. 002 as part of the main story. After a brief tutorial, you can open the map anytime with the Options button on the PS5 controller.
