Death Stranding 2 - Does Lou Die

Does Lou Die?

Lou Dies at the End of Episode 1

Fragile Attempts to Jump Lou

At the end of Episode 1, Sam's Shelter gets attacked by mysterious red-clad figures. Fragile will try to escape with Lou using her Unicycle, but gets shot at by their mysterious pursuers causing her to crash the unicycle.

As their hooded attacker approaches them (later revealed to be Higgs), Fragile tries to send Lou alone through jumping before getting shot by the leader.

In the end, Fragile wakes up wounded after being shot and she tries to approach a crying Lou. However, Lou stops crying as the infant slumps lifelessly on the ground, seemingly losing her life.

Lou is Later Revealed to be Tomorrow

Tomorrow Elle Fanning

It is revealed later in the story the Lou is actually Tomorrow. During the attack on Sam's shelter, the bullet that Higgs fires at Fragile hits her at the same moment she tried to jump Lou away.

This causes Fragile's Ka (soul) and Ha (body) to experience death at a different rate. Fragile's Ka decides to entrust Lou to the BTs surrounding them.

In a later cutscene, the BTs will carry Lou and confine her in a golden chrysallis, the same one where Tomorrow is found in.
