This is a guide for Order No. 031 - Return from the Strange Realm in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (DS2). Learn how to beat the Mysterious Man (Neil) for the second time, as well as best combat tips and weaknesses for the boss.

| 1 | After completing Order No. 030, make sure to stock up on Blood Bags and weapons of your choice before seeing what's happening outside F4. This order involves a lengthy gunfight on a separate map. ▶︎ Order No. 030 Walkthrough |
| 2 |  Once you find yourself again in the Strange Realm, carry all the cargo you dropped and head east toward the hospital. Note that you can jump higher than usual during this order due to being underwater. |
| 3 |  Inside the hospital, follow the Whale BT to a corridor, where you'll encounter Soldier BTs. Defeat them to continue. |
| 4 |  Climb to the topmost level and jump down the elevator shaft to enter a hallway with more Soldier BTs. Defeat them, then exit through the door to reach what seems like a town plaza. |
| 5 |  Defeat the Mysterious Man! Unlike the previous boss fight against him, you can take a more aggressive approach here, thanks to your high jumps. Just watch out for Ice Pillars that appear and destroy them as soon as possible to lessen distractions. As always, the Mysterious Man will teleport to another part of the battlefield and summon more Soldier BTs when it takes enough damage. Repeat this process until another cutscene plays. Take Advantage of High Jumps
As explained, you can jump higher than usual during this order, so use this verticality to your advantage during the boss fight. You can shoot the Mysterious Man and his Soldier BTs from above, then quickly reposition yourself to higher ground to avoid their counterattacks.
Destroy Ice Pillars as Soon as Possible
Ice Pillars appear around the battlefield during the boss fight and slow you down, making them a nuisance. Destroy them as soon as they appear. One Grenade Launcher shot takes them out easily.
