Weaken Catchers and Throw EX Capture Grenade

How to Capture BTs

Fight BT
Go to a BT area and encounter the Catcher (Large BT) lurking in it.

Critical Health
Try to weaken the Catcher's health by using guns with MP bullets until it reaches its critical point (red bar).

Throw EX Capture Grenade to Catcher
Once they reach critical health, they will squirm in pain while opening their mouth. Throw an EX Capture Grenade inside their mouth to capture them.

White Chiral Crystal
A successful catch will cause them to crystalize and leave a White Chiral Crystal behind that you can pick up which can be used to summon them on later BT fights.

You Can Only Catch Large BTs

Black Tar

Unfortunately, you can only catch large BTs also known as Catchers. They produce a dynamic arena of thick tar where vehicles, old buildings and debris are constantly sinking and rising.

What Does a Captured BT Do?

Can be Summoned to Help You Fight Other BTs

You can use the White Chiral Crystal that a BT left behind in order to summon them in a BT area and make them fight for you. This is helpful especially when you are dealing with another Catcher type enemy.

Unfortunately, they can only be summoned in a BT area. You will not be able to summon them in MULE camps or other combat encounters.

How to Get Capture Grenades

Finish Order 33

EX Capture Grenade

The EX Capture Grenade recipe can be unlocked after completing Order No. 033 by connecting The Metagenomicist to the Q-pid. You will need Chiral Crystal x 120, Resin x 30, and Special Alloy x 25 to fabricate one grenade.
