Getting likes is a crucial mechanic in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach (DS2) since it is equivalent to experience points. Learn how to get likes and the benefits of earning them.
How to Get Likes

Complete Orders
By completing main, sub, and standard orders, you will earn Likes. To gain the maximum number of Likes for any delivery, always aim to transport your cargo in pristine condition.
Only the condition of the cargo contents is crucial to your evaluation; 100% condition guarantees an S rating, which in turn secures the highest possible Likes.
Fulfill Aid Requests
Fulfilling Aid Requests is another direct way to earn Likes. These tasks, issued by facilities and other players, call for Sam's help and can vary widely—from retrieving specific items and defeating different types of enemies to building structures.
These requests do not use a ranking system. Instead, you will receive Likes simply for responding to and completing them.
Return Lost Cargo
When you come across Lost Cargo, be sure to pick them up. This simple act will earn you 1 Like.
To gain substantial Likes, complete their interrupted delivery by bringing them to their intended destination, especially when returned in pristine condition.
Complete VR Drills
When Sam is in a facility, he has access to VR Training in his Private Room. From there, you can do VR Drills that can help you familiarize with gameplay mechanics. Completing these Drills will reward you with Likes.
Like SSS Messages
From time to time, Sam will receive SSS (Social Strand System) messages from NPCs.
When you Like these messages, you will also receive Likes in return.
Help Other Players

| Build Structures | To earn and maximize Likes, build structures that offer crucial assistance to other players in vital locations. |
| Entrust Cargo to Other Players | Entrust lost cargo you find to other players for delivery. |
| Donate Cargo to Other Players | Donate a range of items, like container sprays, blood bags, and materials, to other players. |
| Deliver Other Players' Lost Cargo | You'll find lost cargo from other players scattered across the world, often due to environmental hazards or falls. Deliver this cargo to its destination to earn Likes. |
What Do Likes Do?
Increases Connection Level
Likes received from facilities, preppers, shelters, and knots raises your connection level with that location. The more Likes you get, the faster you can max it to 5★. Increasing your connection level will get you various rewards.
Increases Porter Grade
Your Porter Grade is the evaluation system for your delivery performance. It increases with every evaluation you receive as a porter.
The number of Likes you earn from this evaluation will increase towards the playstyle you mostly lean on. As your porter grade levels up, you will be able to unlock skills.
Is There a Trophy for Likes?

Players looking to earn a reputation as a reliable porter will need to receive a total of 2,400 or more Likes for completing orders. Accumulating this many Likes will reward you with the A Life Well Liked trophy.

| Receive a total of 50000 or more Likes for completing orders. |
To be considered as the most excellent porter, will need to receive a monumental total of 50,000 or more Likes for completing orders. Reaching this colossal sum will reward you with the A Porter at Peak Popularity trophy.
