Best Backpack Setup

Recommended Backpack Setup

Backpack Components:
・x1 Large Spare Ammo Container Lv2
・x1 Solar Generator
・x1 Extra Battery Lv2
Backpack Accessories:
Bell
Electrobiote

For the best backpack setup, we recommend having at least 1 Large Spare Ammo Container Lv2 to get 3 extra reloads per weapon (includes underbarrel grenade launchers), and 1 Extra Battery Lv2 for more Skeleton power.

To keep up with your battery usage, we also attach the Solar Generator. This component, when paired with the APAS Enhancement Timefall Generator, will ensure you can recharge your battery in both rain (Timefall) and sunny weather conditions.

For accessories, some of the more practical ones you can equip will be the Bell and the Electrobiote accessories.

Backpack Components Ranked

Component Rating Explanation
Large Spare Ammo Container Lv2
★★★★★
Adds a whopping +3 reloads for all your weapons after you run out of ammo despite being compact. The bonus applies to your underbarrel grenade launchers as well.
Extra Battery Lv2
★★★★★
Greatly extends your Skeleton power supply. One of the best upgrades you can get after reaching the mid-game.
Solar Generator
★★★★
Allows you to recharge your Skeleton's battery when the sun is out. This is perfect for players who don't have multiplayer on or those who like exploring areas outside of the chiral network.
Extra Battery Lv1
★★★★
Improves your Skeleton power supply. Only gets 4★ since the Lv2 is better while still keeping the same size.
Chiral Antigravity Device
★★★★
Great for the early game but its +10kg bonus falls off as you unlock higher Skeleton variants (Lv2~3) and gain access to vehicles.
Spare Ammo Container
★★★
Great for the early game but the Large Spare Ammo Container Lv2 outclasses the +1 reload that this offers.
Large Spare Ammo Container Lv1
★★★
Too bulky compared to the Lv2 you unlock. It's better to stick to Spare Ammo Containers then upgrade to Large Lv2 than to use this.
Mini Extra Battery
★★
Provides marginal gains when it comes to extra battery life even when 3 are attached. You're better off waiting until you get access to the Extra Battery Lv1~2.
Grenade Pouch
★★
Not as useful since each crafted grenade has "5 charges" already and your suit also has built-in grenade pouches from the very start.
Utility Pouch
★★
Not as useful since your suilt already has a built-in utility pouch. Very situational usage especially since you can re-insert Blood Bags from your backpack in the middle of a fight anyway.
Electric Shock Absorber
Very niche use since it requires you to be fighting enemies with Electric Rods. It also requires you to get hit in order to work, so it drops to the bottom of this list.
Back Protector
Very niche use cases since you're usually facing your opponents during combat anyway.

Backpack Accessories Ranked

Component Rating Explanation
Bell
★★★★★
This is a great accessory to equip since it slightly lowers the difficulty of BT areas. Very good for players who find BT areas tough to navigate.
Electrobiote
★★★
Good for extending your battery life by a tiny amount. A little goes a long way, especially if you find yourself stuck in an area outside the chiral network.
Quokka
★★
Highly situational in use. You can probably use it if you plan to get the Creature Comforter trophy.
Porter
Again, a very situational accessory to equip since non-player porters usually only offer you equipment and not lost cargo.
