After reaching Australia, Sam meets Charlie who asks him if he wants to hear reassurances about the mission from Deadman, Heartman, Lockne, or Die-Hardman in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (DS2). Die-Hardman is the Only Choice that Matters

| Deadman | Charlie will simply say that it is "too soon" to be impersonating Deadman after the latter's recent return to the Beach. Charlie will ask you to choose someone else. |
| Heartman | Charlie will say there is "no point" hearing it from Heartman since the latter will join Sam and Drawbridge in Australia. He asks you to choose someone else. |
| Lockne | Charlie will say that adding his persona to the fused souls of Mama and Lockne will sound "too confusing". He asks you to choose someone else. |
| Die-Hardman | This is the only choice Charlie works with. Choosing Die-Hardman triggers the cutscene with The President of APAC explaining your mission in Australia. |
After you use the Mexico plate gate to reach Australia, Sam will demand to meet Charlie before he agrees to Drawbridge's mission. After being introduced to Charlie, the mannequin will ask Sam to choose whose voice he should use to convince Sam of the mission: Deadman, Heartman, Lockne, or Die-Hardman.
The only "real" choice among the four is Die-Hardman since this option triggers the cutscene with the President that progresses the story. Choosing any of the other 3 will simply prompt additional dialogue from Charlie.
Should You Choose Deadman, Heartman, Lockne, or Die-Hardman?
Choose Die-Hardman to Quickly Progress the Story
To get on with the story, pick Die-Hardman right off the bat. This should allow you to meet the President and learn more about Drawbridge's mission in Australia.
Choosing Deadman, Heartman, or Lockne won't really offer much by way of lore since everything Charlie mentions will have been info from Death Stranding 1 or something you found out recently (like Deadman returning to his Beach).
Picking Deadman, Heartman, or Lockne Removes that Choice
To hammer in that this is an exercise in futility. picking Deadman, Heartman, or Lockne will simply remove their options from the initial choice. If you picked all 3 before Die-Hardman, you'll eventually end up with Die-Hardman being the only available choice.
