Death Stranding 2 On the Beach (DS2)

Should You Choose I'll Do It or I Won't Do It?

Add to Watchlist

Should You Choose I

Sam will be given the choice of accepting or declining Fragile's offered job at the start of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Read on to learn the outcomes of choosing I'll do it and I won't do it, as well as how each choice will affect the story.

I'll Do It or I Won't Do It Outcomes

Your Choice Won't Affect the Story

Choice Result
I'll do it. The story proceeds as normal. This choice will continue the cutscene and net you your first delivery job.
I won't do it. The previous cutscene will repeat itself (starting with Sam cleaning up the pan). You can skip it to return to the same choice of "I'll accept the order" and "I won't do it".
Choosing this option a 2nd time will repeat the same cutscene. However, once you reach the choice, only "I'll accept the order" will be available.

The I won't do it dialogue option only appears if you exhaust all of Sam's other dialogue options.

During Fragile's unannounced visit at the the start of the game, she'll offer Sam a porter job courtesy of Drawbridge and the UCA. If you exhaust all the contextual dialogue (asking about the job and "Why me?"), you'll be given a choice between accepting or declining the job.

However, regardless of your choice, you'll eventually be forced to choose "I'll do it", so choosing I won't do it will not affect the story in any way.

Should You Choose I'll Do It or I Won't Do It?

Choose I'll Do It to Save Time

To save time, simply choose "I'll do it" the first time around. If you choose "I won't do it" for the first time, you'll have to rewatch (or skip) the previous cutscene only to arrive back at the original choice.

Choosing "I won't do it" a second time will rehash the entire sequence. But, this time, only "I'll accept the order" will be left, forcing you to choose this option in order to continue the game.
