| 1 |  You start high up the mountain. Head down and follow the ridge going south. Tap L1 to use the Terrain Scanner and follow the blue footsteps, which indicate a safe route. ▶ How to Use the Scanner |
| 2 |  Along the way, an earthquake will occur. Hold L2 and R2 to grip for balance and prevent tumbling. |
| * |  Lou, the baby you're carrying, may also start crying due to the earthquake. Press the Down D-pad to soothe Lou and gently rock the controller up and down. Once Lou calms down, you can stop and continue on. ▶ List of Controls |
| 3 |  Keep moving forward. When you reach the rocky peak, head down the slope to the east, while holding L2 and R2 to grip for balance. At the bottom, pick up the Ladder nearby. |
| 4 |  Head southwest to climb back up the ridge. Continue south along the ridge toward your destination |
| 5 |  Once you're down the ridge and near the river, open the Weapons/Tools Menu using the Right D-pad and select the Ladder. Aim the Ladder at the other side and deploy it to safely cross the river. ▶ How to Cross Rivers |
| 6 |  Continue south until you reach your destination. A cutscene will then play, ending the game's Prologue. |
