Getting past the fog and entering the Eternal Forest can be done by entering from the forest's Eastern border in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (EoW). Learn more about the different ways to get past the fog and what's beyond the fog in here!

Travel Waypoint Locations: How to Fast Travel
Attempting to enter the Eternal Forest from the fog resets Zelda's location. Be wary of the forest's border to avoid this occurrence.
This does not have any adverse affects other than displacing Zelda in the map.
The Eternal Forest lies beyond the fog, where the events of Rescuing the Hero Link main quest takes place.
