How to Complete
1
Talk to Darston and he'll tell you about mysterious noises coming from the cave and a folktale about a fire giant.
2
Head into the cave and use the Lava Rock echo to get over the lava spouts. You'll encounter a lot of these lava spouts throughout the dungeon.
3
After getting through the first lava spout, use the wall to climb around the corner and on top of the existing lava rock. Summon another echo of a lava rock on the third lava spout to get over it.
4
Follow the path onto the next lava spout and you can use other echoes such as the Cloud to skip straight to the platform with the door. Other methods may also work such as using Bind on the neighbouring Lava Rock to place it onto the lava spout.
5
Get through the next area normally until you climb the wall to the upper level.
6
Get on top of the lava spout using a Lava Rock and use Cloud echoes as before to skip to the platform with a ladder going down.
7
Down the ladder, wait for the lava to go down before continuing ahead and climbing up to safety with a chest containing 50 Rupees.
8
After the lava goes down again, continue on and climb up two sets of ladders.
9
Right as the lava goes down, drop down the ladder and use Strandtulas to get across and up to the platform with the exit ladder.
10
Up the ladder, you'll find a door that leads to the boss fight with the Fire Giant. Prepare yourself with the right echoes for the fight.
▶︎ How to Beat the Fire Giant
11
The Fire Giant will drop a Heart Piece once you defeat it. Afterwards, a portal that leads back to the entrance will appear.
12
Head back to Darston at the entrance and tell him what happened to complete the quest. He will reward you with a Goron's bracelet.

How to Beat the Fire Giant

How to Beat the Fire Giant

Fire Giant Attack Patterns

The Fire Giant has a frontal ground slam, a spinning attack, and a ranged fist attack. Familiarize its attack patterns and do your best to dodge them while taking advantage of openings particularly after the slam and the ranged attack.

Focus Attacks on the Core

A Mountainous Mystery Boss Tip 2

You can only inflict damage on the Fire Giant by attacking its core, indicated by the glowing blue body part. It starts at the bottom and moves to either of his shoulders everytime he reforms.

Durable Combat Echoes and Swordfighter Form

Use combat echoes that can take a hit like Lynel and Swordfighter Form to deal damage to the Fire Giant's core during openings. Echoes are hard to maneuver easily in this fight so make sure they can take a hit while they attack.

Enrage Phase After Taking Enough Damage

The Fire Giant enrages after getting damaged enough and moves his core to the top of his head. You're going to have to hit the top of his head to damage him which may be left open everytime he slams the ground.

Lizalfos Lv. 3 Jump Attack is Good

After he enrages, you can use the Lizalfos Lv. 3 echo to hit the core on top of his head. The jump attack from the Lizalfos is perfect for damaging the Fire Giant during this phase.
