It is not yet confirmed if Link will be playable in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (EoW). Learn more about Link and whether you can play as him in the latest Zelda installment in this guide!
In the announcement trailer of the game, the video shows Link fighting three enemies before facing Ganon in a boss battle. It is likely that this part is the game's prologue where you play as Link first before it switches to Zelda.
As seen in the Into the Still World trailer, Link appears behind a large stone tablet and attacks Zelda. His eyes now have a red glow implying this is either possessed or brainwashed.
He serves as the miniboss of the Suthorn Ruins Dungeon in the Still World.

As revealed from the official trailers, Link will be appearing in the prologue of the game and fighting the player as a boss when venturing the Still World.
It is yet to be seen where Link currently is during the aftermath of these events, but it will likely be revealed during the game's storyline.
Link is a swordsman who lives in Suthorn Village, a settlement Zelda and Tri will visit in the first parts of the game. He's a reliable neighbor who helps deal with various problems in the village, which is now in distress after the appearance of the rifts.
Based on a dialogue option with one of the NPCs in Suthorn Village, Zelda seems to have no idea who the swordsman that came to rescue her was. This implies that the story of Echoes of Wisdom takes place in a different timeline.
