Complete Runaway Horse Quest

Runaway Horse
Visit Hyrule Ranch and talk to the old man to accept the Runaway Horse side quest. Head west of the ranch and rescue the brown horse stuck in a small island surrounded by water. Return the brown horse to the old man, and as a reward, the ranch can now loan out horses to you for free.

Visit the Ranch to Rent a Horse

Hyrule Ranch
With Runaway Horse complete, you can now visit Hyrule Ranch to rent out horses. Fast travel to the ranch using the Hyrule Ranch Waypoint for easy access. The gray and brown horses are immediately available to Zelda, while the white horse is locked until you complete Impa's Gift side quest.

Complete Impa's Gift to Learn Carrot Echo

Carrot Echo

After completing Runaway Horse and the Still Missing main quest, you can take on the Impa's Gift side quest. Talk to Impa and the girl in Hyrule Ranch.

Enter the rift northwest of Hyrule Castle and clear the Stilled Carrot Patch. After closing the rift, you will be rewarded a white horse, as well as the ability to learn the Carrot echo. Pull the carrot out of the patch with Bind and use the Tri Rod to add the echo into your collection.

Once you have the Carrot echo, you can use it to summon a horse from anywhere in the overworld. Summon the Carrot echo in any placeable area to call a horse.

Instantly Defeat Weaker Enemies

Weaker enemies can be instantly defeated while riding a horse. Crashing into weaker enemies will cause them to immediately faint, minimizing danger during travel.

Hop Over Small Obstacles

Small obstacles such as fences and ledges can be overcome while riding a horse. Simply hop over the terrain or object and continue on with your exploration.

There are currently three horse variants available in Echoes of Wisdom: a gray horse, a white horse, and a brown horse, which resembles Link's horse Epona.

The gray and brown horses are immediately available to rent out at Hyrule Ranch after completing the Runaway Horse side quest, while the white horse is given as a reward for completing Impa's Gift.
