Let's Play a Game is a Side Quest that can be started in Eastern Hyrule Field in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (EoW). Learn how to complete this quest and the Eastern Temple dungeon, how to unlock it, its rewards, and how to beat Smog in this guide!
List of Contents
A man called Sago is blocking the doorway of the Eastern Temple. Talk to him to start the quest.
Let's Play a Game should be immediately available after completing The Mysterious Rifts main quest.
How to Complete | |
---|---|
1 | Enter the Eastern Temple, and defeat the Sparks to get the Spark Echo. It's recommended to place a Sea Urchin Echo along their path or use any ranged attacker to defeat these enemies. |
2 | Go to the next room. Here, you'll need to place three Sparks into the yellow block in the upper left corner. You can move the boulder using Bind in order to guide the Sparks to the outer wall, or you can summon Spark Echoes yourself into the yellow block. |
3 | In the next room, move the boulder on the upper right, and guide the two Sparks towards the ramp on top, so that they can enter the yellow block. Make sure they're travelling counter-clockwise to be able to use the ramp. You can also just shoot Spark Echoes into the yellow block. |
4 | Optional: Go to the room on the right. Bind the isolated box at the bottom and move it next to the yellow block to create a "wall". Spam Spark Echoes through the south wall to overwhelm the Octorok as it will try to shoot your Sparks until two Sparks successfully reach the yellow box. If the Octorok breaks the box along the east wall, move to the left room and back to reset the boxes. If you successfully sent two Sparks on the yellow box, a chest containing 50 Rupees should appear. |
5 | From the 50 Rupee room, go left twice. Use Bind to drag the treasure chest into the gap to safely dislodge the Sparks, and open it for 5 portions of rock salt. |
6 | Go down the ladder. You can choose to either defeat the Sparks to cross using the upper platform or defeat the Caromadillo Lv. 2 below and cross using the lower platform. |
7 | Avoid or defeat the Sparks as you swim through. Open the submerged treasure chest at the middle for 50 Rupees. |
8 | Make preparations to face the boss of this temple in the next room. When you're ready, continue to the next room and defeat the electric cloud boss Smog. ▶ How to Beat Smog |
9 | Make sure to pick up the Heart Piece after defeating Smog. Then, return to Sago outside to finish the quest and get your reward. |
It is difficult to deal with Smog using only melee attacks as it can electrocute on contact and can shoot electric orbs.
Use ranged attacks such as the Octorok Echo and the Swordfighter form's bow, or simply place Sea Urchin Echoes along Smog's path
Once Smog divides into small clouds, use Echoes or move nearby boulders to make the clouds fuse into each other. Just like in Oracle of Ages, Smog can't be damaged in this form, so you need to make the clouds all merge.
Try to focus on only two clouds at a time. It's a good idea to make one cloud go clockwise and another counter-clockwise on adjacent walls before connecting them. You can also use Bind to stop or adjust a cloud's movement.
