Igneo Talus has a frontal ground slam, a spinning attack, and a ranged fist attack. Familiarize yourself with its attack patterns and use Spin to dodge these moves. Focus on countering after the ground slam or ranged attack, as they leave the boss vulnerable for a short time.
You can only damage Igneo Talus by attacking its glowing blue core. Use Bind to pull off the core and quickly dismantle it. This is easy to do during the first two phases, as the core remains at ground level.
However, starting in Phase 3, the core moves to the boss's upper body, making it harder to reach. Wait for the boss to perform a ground slam, then use Bind to remove the core.
Use durable Combat Echoes that can take a hit like the Lynel and then switch to Swordfighter Form to deal damage to Igneus Talus's core during openings. Echoes are difficult to maneuver in this fight, so make sure they can take damage while dishing it out against the boss.
While you can use Ice-type Echoes, such as the Ice Wizzrobe or Ice Keese, to deal elemental damage, it’s better to just brute force the fight with tough Combat Echoes like the Lynel.
Swordfighter Form Upgrade Order
In Phase 3, Igneo Talus will reform, turning a deep red with its core now located on top of its head. You’ll need to strike the core when the boss leaves it exposed, particularly after its ground slams.
Summon the Lizalfos Lv. 3 Echo during this phase, as its jump attack is ideal for hitting the core on Igneo Talus's head and dealing significant damage.
