This is a guide on how to heal and restore hearts in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (EoW). Learn more about the different ways to heal and restore hearts in here!
List of Contents
Resting on a Bed recovers HP every few seconds, but the first instance of heal happens faster than the subsequent heals. Lay down on a bed, and once you recover HP, get up immediately, then repeat the process to recover hearts faster than simply waiting!
Better Bed Echoes will recover Hearts faster, so doing this trick on a Soft Bed or Zelda's Bed will allow you to recover HP much faster!
How to Restore Hearts |
---|
|
Enemies have a chance to drop hearts that heal upon pick-up. When low on health, switch to a strategy that allows time away from the heat of combat to pick-up hearts in the vicinity.
Heart Pin |
Description |
---|---|
Hairpin with a distinctive heart design. It makes hearts appear a little more often. | |
Effect | Heart Appearance Up |
Accessories such as the Heart Pin can increase the drop rate of hearts, which is useful if you feel like hearts are not dropping often for you.
When Hero Mode is activated, enemies no longer drop hearts. Consider this when doing challenge runs with Hero Mode activated.
Hero Mode Difficulty Differences
After summoning a bed echo, you can press A to rest in it and restore hearts both in and out of combat. When in combat, players may employ a strategy of drawing the enemies' attention with another Echo to create an opening to summon and use a Bed Echo.
Echo | Hearts Recovered (Per Rest) |
Where to Get |
---|---|---|
Old Bed | 1/2 | Hyrule Castle Jail |
Soft Bed | 1 | House in the Oasis (Gerudo Desert) |
Zelda's Bed | 2 | Zelda's Room (After Hyrule Castle Dungeon) |
While the first bed echo learned, the Old Bed, restores half a heart each time you rest (or about half a heart every second you wait), you can learn other bed echoes which will increase this to 1 or even 2 full hearts per rest, making them very useful both for traversal and recovery!
Best Echoes for Combat and Exploration
Some smoothies have restorative effects that can restore hearts when consumed. Look for Business Scrubs and blend ingredients found during exploration to create smoothies.
Smoothies List: All 69 Smoothie Recipes
Select smoothie ingredients such as grapes can restore hearts when consumed, albeit not as potent as smoothies. While it is heavily recommended to use the ingredients to blend smoothies instead, these may still be consumed in an emergency.
Having a Fairy stored inside a Fairy Bottle in your inventory automatically restores hearts when fully depleted, saving Zelda from death. Approach Fairies with an empty Fairy Bottle in your inventory to automatically store them in the bottle.

In the Eldin Volcano area, you can rest at hot springs and it will slowly regenerate your health over time. This makes for good recovery points if you've been taking a lot of damage from fire!
The Rift on Eldin Volcano Walkthrough
Obtaining a Heart Piece fully restores all hearts as soon as you pick it up, and collecting 4 of them (or a Heart Container) will give you another heart!
