Press A to Dive While Swimming

While swimming, pressing the A button makes Zelda dive to reach lower depths. This allows her to obtain items such as rupees submerged underwater.

Press B to Resurface While Swimming

While swimming, press the B button to swim upwards. On shallower depths, Zelda can continually swim upwards until she reaches the surface of the water.

Press R to Spin

Pressing the R button will unleash a spinning motion, which can be used to cut grass. This movement does not deal damage to enemies.

Press Y to Summon an Echo

Press Y to Summon an Echo
Pressing the Y button summons the selected echo. The echo will appear in the direction Zelda is facing.

Hold the Right D-Pad to Switch Echoes

Holding the Right D-Pad opens a menu to select the active echo. The game pauses during selection, giving leeway to strategize while in the selection screen.

Press ZR Near an Echo to Erase It

Approach a summoned echo and press ZR to erase it. Echoes have a triangle floating above them, and pressing ZR near one will undo its summoning.

Press X to Bind

Press X to Bind
Pressing the X button Binds to a target, forcing it to follow Zelda's movements. Bind may be used on select objects, mobs, and summoned Echoes.

Use ZL to Select Bind Target

NSW - zLZL Select Bind Target

Pressing the ZL Button triggers Lock-on, allowing selection of targets to use Bind on. Use the ZL button to specify the Bind target when multiple entities are present.

Release Bind with ZR Button

Release Bind with ZR Button
Pressing the ZR Button during Bind will release the entity. When entities are released from Bind, they are subject to game physics, allowing enemies and objects to fall off cliffs or into holes.

Press the R Button During Bind to Reverse Bond

Press R Button During Bind to Reverse Bond
Pressing the R button during Bind will trigger Reverse Bond, forcing Zelda to follow the entity's movements. Reverse Bond can be used to follow along moving objects or enable flight when bound to a flying echo.

Press Y to Attack and Hold to Charge a Spin Attack

Press Y to Attack and Hold to Charge a Spin Attack

During Swordfighter Form, pressing the Y Button makes Zelda attack with the Mysterious Sword. Holding the Y Button will unleash a Spin Attack that deals damage in a radius.

Note: Echo and Bind Related controls are disabled during Swordfighter Form.

Press Y After Jumping For a Vertical Slash

A high jump with the B Button followed by an attack with the Y Button unleashes a vertical slash.

Press ZL to Defend

Press ZL to Defend

Pressing the ZL Button during the Swordfighter Form makes Zelda defend with her shield. Use this button to defend from incoming attacks.
