Zelda Takes Twice the Damage From Enemies
In Hero Mode, Zelda takes twice the damage from enemies and possibly environmental hazards like lava or bottomless pits.

Hearts Do Not Drop

Smoothie Menu
Hearts do not drop when playing the game in Hero Mode. This means that you will likely have to use other ways to restore health such as crafting and using Smoothies, or by resting in beds.

Some Accessories Will Not Have Any Effects

Some accessories will not have any effects when you are playing in Hero Mode. It is likely that these accessories are ones that may affect your hearts such as ones that let you regenerate hearts for a certain amount of time.

How to Unlock Hero Mode

Hero Mode is Available from the Start

The Hero Mode difficulty is available at the beginning of the game. We speculate that you can choose the game's difficulty as soon as you start a new game.

How to Change Difficulty Settings

Go to the Settings Menu

Go to the Settings menu and navigate to the Difficulty button.

Click Difficulty and Choose Hero Mode

Choose Difficulty and select Hero Mode from the popup window. You can change the difficulty settings any time from this menu.
