How to Select Hero Mode Difficulty

Go to the Settings Menu

Go to the Settings Menu
Press the Plus (+) button to pause the game and open the main menu. Go to the Settings tab and navigate to the Difficulty button.

Choose Difficulty and select Hero Mode from the popup window. You can change the difficulty settings any time from this menu.

In Hero Mode, Zelda takes twice the damage from enemies and from environmental hazards like lava.

Smoothie Menu
Hearts do not drop when playing the game in Hero Mode. This means that you have to rely on other ways to restore health such as using Smoothies or using the Old Bed Echo.

The Hero Mode difficulty is available at the beginning of the game. During the Prologue sequence, press the Plus (+) button and go to the Settings menu to change the difficulty.
