Southern Gerudo Desert Rift gets unlocked while progressing through A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest, and appears on the quest log after talking to Dohna and the parched Gerudo Soldiers just southward of Gerudo Town and receiving two pieces of chilly cactus from Dohna.

| 1 | Warp to the statue near Gerudo Town and go southward until parched Gerudo Soldiers come to view. Go towards them to trigger a cutscene. |
| 2 | Once the cutscene ends and Zelda receives the chilly cacti from Dohna, warp to the statue near Oasis. |
| 3 | Go to the Smoothie Shop, talk to the Business Scrub, then choose Smoothie, please! to open the Ingredients Menu. |

| 1 | Combine two chilly cacti to make a new recipe and pay 10 rupees to make it. A sidequest called Recipes, Please will also become active afterwards. |
| 2 | After obtaining the Cactus Smoothie, warp back to the statue near Gerudo Town. Go south until you see the parched soldiers again. |

Southern Gerudo Desert Rift gets unlocked while progressing through A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest, and appears on the quest log after talking to Dohna and the parched Gerudo Soldiers just southward of Gerudo Town and receiving two pieces of chilly cactus from Dohna.
After completing Southern Gerudo Desert Rift quest, choose between Southern Oasis Ruins Rift quest or Ancestor's Cave of Rest Rift quest to progress the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest.
