The Zappy Shipwreck is a Side Quest that can be started in Seesyde Village in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (EoW). Learn how to complete this quest and the Wrecked Ship dungeon, how to unlock it, its rewards, and how to beat the electric jellyfish in this guide!
List of Contents
Go to Seesyde Village near Zora Cove, and talk to the man standing on top of a boat at the docks.
The Zappy Shipwreck Side Quest becomes available after clearing Still Missing.
How to Complete | |
---|---|
1 | After accepting the quest, swim southwest to the shipwreck. Use Water Block Echoes to get on the ship. |
2 | Go the backside of the ship and use Bind on the hatch to reveal a staircase. Proceed down the passage to access the Wrecked Ship mini dungeon. |
3 | Move or destroy the boxes on the upper right section of the room until you uncover a doorway. Enter through here to proceed. |
4 | The next room south is a flooded room with Tektites. You can electrocute them using a Spark Echo if they're touching the water and finish them off with a combat Echo. You can also run past them into the next room to the southwest, next to some Octoroks. |
5 | In the next room, dive down the square hole flooded with water. |
6 | You have to reach the exit of this sidescrolling section on the northwest corner of the room. Be sure to touch the glowing corals for additional light and watch out for enemies along the way. You can also use a Tangler Lv. 2 Echo to illuminate your path and fight enemies. |
7 | After surfacing, go to the left side and use Echoes (or just stack the beds in the room) to reach the gap on the wall. |
8 | Jump down the left side of the room and stack Water Block Echoes next to the left wall to make a pillar of water. Next, move to the right side and use Bind on the statue beyond the gate. You must drag the statue to the left and swim up the water pillar you made to press the button that will lower the gate. |
9 | You can defeat the Hydrozols on the left to learn their Echo if you don't have it yet. On the right, deal with the Poe first using ranged attacks and use Chompfins on the enemies in the water. |
10 | Before you go, there's a breakable wall on the northwest corner (where the Hydrozols were) that leads to a room full of crates. Break all the crates to find a chest containing the Gold Rupee, which is worth 300 Rupees. When you're done, return to the previous room and go up the stairs on the northeast. The doorway on the left will take you to the boss room. |
11 | Defeat Barinade, the large electric jellyfish. Make sure to pick up the Heart Piece it drops upon its defeat. ▶ How to Beat the Large Jellyfish Barinade |
12 | Return to the man at Seesyde Village to complete the quest and get your reward. |
Before you can damage Barinade, you’ll need to defeat the smaller jellyfishes, called Biri, that surround it. Summon monster Echoes with large area-of-effect attacks, like the Boomerang Boarblin, to hit several targets at once and cover more ground.
Barinade uses electric attacks that can charge the surrounding water. Stay away from the water to avoid getting electrocuted, and only approach the large jellyfish ones its defenses are down. Let your Monster Echoes take the hit and do the fighting for you!
Once Barinade's defenses are down, switch to Swordfighter Form and unleash a flurry of attacks with the Mysterious Sword.
After dealing enough damage, the fight will move into Phase 2. The only main difference is that the electric jellyfish moves slightly faster. Stick to the same strategies as before, then finish the Barinade with the Sword once and for all.
How to Beat the Large Jellyfish Barinade
After completing The Zappy Shipwreck side quest, you'll be rewarded with a Fairy Bottle, which can store a fairy you may come across as you explore.
Fairies can be used to replenish hearts. They can also automatically revive Zelda if she ever runs out of hearts. However, once used, the fairy will no longer be in your bottle, and you'll have to collect new ones.
Barinade in The Zappy Shipwreck quest drops a Heart Piece once it's defeated.
The Shipwreck is the location to what appears to be the only Gold Rupee in the game. In the room where you face the Hydrozols, look for a breakable wall on the northeast side. Destroy it to reveal a hidden room filled with crates. Break all the crates, and you'll find a chest containing the Gold Rupee, which is worth 300 Rupees.
