A stat for equipment that affects a character's agility. As the name implies, light armour typically has a lower weight, why heavy armour has a higher weight, so light weight (usually with a weight of 1), will not subtract much from your character's agility. In most cases, higher weight equipment has higher defence stats to make up for it.
This means that characters with lower weight will be more likely to hit enemies and evade attacks. To learn more about agility and other stats, check our explanation on Stats down below!
Explanation of Stats
To decrease weight, you can use different weight reduction skills and skill links. Below is a list of skills that reduce weight.

Shulk doesn't have the best agility stat out of the whole character roster but he sure does benefit a lot from it. Shulk's arts packs a punch but none of it will matter if it misses. Lessening the weight of his equipment will alleviate this problem.
Reyn is a character that relies on tanking damage with his high defense. Equipping him with heavy armor is the obvious choice at first but later on in the game, Reyn starts getting into business with dealing damage. Reducing the Weight of Reyn's armor will increase his chances of hitting the enemies. Make sure to improve his agility stat too!
Fiora's high agility stat allows her to dodge enemies with ease. Reducing the weight of her armor will make this task easier.
The best dodge tanker in the game. Dunban is capable of taking lots of Aggro from enemies then dodging everything with high high agility and evasion based arts. Reducing his armor's weight makes Dunban unhittable.
