Position yourself on either side of your opponent, and when the blue circle with the exclamation mark comes up on the Slit Edge Art icon, select it. If you do it right, you'll get a bonus damage indicator and a Physical Def Down indicator.

Due to its overall usefulness, we recommend investing points into this Art.
