Find Captain Olimar! Walkthrough

This is a story walkthrough for Find Captain Olimar! in Pikmin 3 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch. This guide will cover day 2 of the Formidable Oak, and show you how to get Captain Olimar through the cave.

Objectives List

1: Have Brittany use the path from before to keep moving and avoid the Mysterious Life Form

By having Brittany run through the area where you blew up the iron wall, she'll be able to rotate around a larger path, making it easier to avoid the Mysterious Life Form by using 'Go Here'. Have Brittany continously running away from the Mysterious Life Form, making use of the entire area you have opened up to move around the map and stay a safe distance away from the creature.

2: Gather the fragments to build the bridge

As the exploration team, proceed forward through the route you stopped at on the previous day, which will lead you to a tunnel that can be used to get Olimar outside. First, split into two teams: one with Blue and Winged Pikmin, and the other with Red, Yellow, and Rock Pikmin. Both teams will be used to gather up the fragments in the cave to build a bridge.

The cave is very dark, so be sure and step over the glowcaps to light up the room.

3: Lift the clipboard with the winged pikmin

After the Winged Pikmin have finished moving the fragments, look for a clipboard near the water, and have them charge at it to lift it up and create a bridge. This will allow smoother transportation of Olimar once he comes through the cave.

4: Turn on the lightbulbs and make a new path to move Olimar around

After making the bridge with the clipboard, reassemble all of your Pikmin and have connect the electrodes to turn on the lights. Turning them on will create a path of Bloominous Stemples that you can walk over, creating a path that goes to the outside of the cave.

A little bit further in, there is an Arachnode, but if you are using Winged Pikmin to carry Olimar, you don't need to go out of your way to kill it.

Throw a teammate and 10 yellow pikmin across for lightbulb 3

You'll need to throw a leader and 10 Yellow Pikmin over to turn on the lightbulb. It is dark and a bit hard to see, so use the pointer to confirm where they will land. At this point, you can go ahead and use the 'Go Here' command to have Brittany come to the cave and reunite with your party.

5: Carry Olimar outside of the cave

After reuniting everyone, continue moving through the cave until you reach the cave's exit, and go through it. Once Olimar makes it outside, the Mysterious Life Form will come out and morph into the Plasm Wraith, prompting the battle with the final boss. This final fight can take a bit of time to complete, so end the day hear, and take on the boss fight from the start of the next day.
