Yellow Pikmin Abilities

Immune to electricity

Yellow Pikmin are immune to electricity based obstacles and attacks. They are great for surviving such threats, which is why you should use Yellow Pikmin for electric gates, and to initiate fights with enemies that use electric attacks, such as Bearded Amprats.

Can be thrown higher than other Pikmin

Yellow Pikmin can be thrown higher than any other Pikmin type in Pikmin 3 Deluxe. They are great for reaching high spots that no other Pikmin can. If there is some obstacle or item (such as a fruit or bridge fragments) that you can't seem to reach with red pikmin or rock pikmin, try throwing some yellow pikmin instead!

Great at digging

Yellow Pikmin are even faster at digging than the other types of Pikmin are. If you need to uncover a mound to dig up some bridge fragments or fruit in a hurry, leave it to your Yellow Pikmin!

Where Are the Yellow Pikmin?

Distant Tundra

Yellow Pikmin will be your companion in the Distant Tundra, and Brittany will need to use them to reunite with Alph. She will first encounter a few of them near an electrode, and by throwing the nearby ones at the unfinished circuit, she will restore the Yellow Onion.

After they join your party, Yellow Pikmin pellets can be found in all other maps, such as the Tropical Wilds, etc.
