1. You don't need more than the three charmander that are there usually 2. A picture of them hopping is too late, you need a pic right after Charizard lands of them dancing.
I waited for the Charizard to stop flying and float in place, looking at the Tyrantrum. I orbed the flower and Tyrantrum started glowing. It worked after that. I also saw about 8 Chamanders there. I'm not sure if it's because I used turbo to get there quicker, or because I orbed the scared Chamander to use flamethrower on the Archeops (just before entering the cave before the branching path). To give yourself time to take the shot, make sure you knock the Graveller down just before the exit.
You dont need 5 charmanders, worked just fine with 3
Finally got it after about 15 tries... Follow the steps in the guide with the crystalbloom and flufffruit. For the photo, I was zoomed in until charizard was about too land in order to slow down the NEO-ONE. Once it landed I zoomed out and took the photo. FInally got the request. (note that the photo I got to work has charizard making a dust cloud)
For anyone else that's still suffering, you can hit the crystabloom more than once. When I got it I kept throwing orbs until I saw Charizard light up as it went past. Also I took several eligible photos that run and they were all focused on Charmander, immediately after Charizard's feet touched the ground
I think this is the key, the timing of when you hit the crystalbloom, and not the number of charmanders. I hit the crystalbloom right as charizard was flying by and it paused and just floated by the crystalbloom for some time. I finally got the request completed, and my photo only had 3 charmanders in it.
I watched the Gamer pillar video for it on YouTube and got it my third try. Make sure you are focusing on charmander not charizard. Get one with the dust cloud from charizard landing when the charmanders are on 1 leg and zoom out so you can get all the charmanders in the shot. Happy snapping.
Still completely bugged, waiting on a fix. Even with 9 charmander jumping in frame still no credit
Snap a pic when the charmander are doing the tippy-tap dance before the hop. My (finally) successful pic was a zoomed-out snap right before the charmander hopped in the air and like others have said, before the dust from charizard settled. The charmander were all on one foot during the initial dance, not hopping or in the process of hopping. This request was confusing but eventually you will get it if you know what to look for. Took me forever with no reward but whatever ( = v =“
Zoomed out or zoomed in* and it didn’t work with any shots on either of them (autocorrect got me, sorry) . ,Abe this request needs a fix or something because the exact frames I need are too small a window and there is really no way for me to know which are the ones I need for request turn in. Anyway good luck all of you w this one lol
Nothing I try is working. I’ve activated the scene of them celebrating with charizard almost 20 times now , turning in pictures of different stages of their hops around it zoomed and I zoomed but the request will not complete.I give up I think this is driving me crazy.
If you're still having trouble, the key is timing with the crystalbloom - if its not like just as Charizard is passing by it, it won't count. You'll know it's succeeded if Charizard pauses a bit to roar. Also, I believe I've figured out the key to a successful photo: not zooming in. Just try and include ever Charmander present in the picture, as well as the Charizard. That's what ended up working for me, though the celebration phase still probably needs to be shown.
How do you do this i play the meldoy and they still won't form the circle what on earth am i meant to do
THIS. THIS WORKED. I spent quite literally HOURS doing this quest and it finally accepted the photo when I chose one with Charizard dust still settling, focused on Charmander. Thank you.
I think you need to get the picture during the initial dance while Charizard lands--the part where they all jump in the air is right at the end of the dance, which I think is why pictures of the jump sometimes fail (as the game might consider that too late). Try to use a shot where the Charmander have their arms in the air and you can still see some dust from Charizard landing. For what it's worth I had 7 Charmanders in my successful shot, but saw a Youtuber do it with 5.
Okay, after hours of trying and many attempts, I managed to get the research and NONE of my charmanders were off the ground. I actually think it is the number of them and they have to be in the jump animation after Charizard lands. I had a total of 8 in mine. I checked the images after and luckily the one I chose was the only one with the correct caption to get the achievement. the ones with them in the air only had 6 and didn't have the "Yay" caption.
I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong. I've done all the steps perfectly multiple times and caught the Charmander mid-jump, but no dice apparently.

I just completed this one. Go through, find, and hit all 4 charmanders with fluffruit. Near the end light up the flower by the gravler and above the tyrantrum. Next there’s a charmander sitting on a rock hit him with a fluffruit then hit the gravler hanging on the ledge to block your path to slow you down. Now start chucking fluffruit at the charmanders to lure more out then play the melody to lure the charizard once it lands and they all start dancing take the picture! Here’s a pic.
how do you get 10 out? I can only get 7
