How to Clear A Seven-Colored Glow

Take the Branching Route to the Underwater Ruins

In Undersea, Starmie can only be found in the branching route to the underwater ruins. Take the route via the cave entrance right before the seaweed patch. The request can only be done on research level 3, where the entrance to the alternate route is already cleared.

Locate Hidden Starmie

After descending the cavern, you'll see a few Lumineon swimming right above the sea floor. 2 Lumineon are swimming around Starmie that are hidden beneath the sand. Starmie's gem is visible above the sand, but if you're having trouble distinguishing it from a Clamperl, you could just use scan mode.

Wake Up Starmie!

For this request, you need to wake up at least 1 Starmie. There are two ways to accomplish this; with Illumina orbs or with fluffruit. Throwing an Illumina orb directly at Starmie's gem will wake it up and you will be set for the next part of the request. Alternatively, you could even use the fluffruit to lure Lumineon to wake Starmie up for you, but it's not recommended, unless you're also trying to complete the Stirring Up Starmie request.

Ignite Crystabloom with Illumina Orb

New Pokemon Snap Crystabloom Undersea.jpg

After waking up a Starmie, you next have to throw an Illumina orb at the last crystabloom of the course, in the underwater ruins. The crystabloom is located to the left side of the course, on a stage across the 2 awake Golisopod. Throw an Illumina orb at it and a Starmie will show up. It's recommended to not take your time doing so, as there is one more step to completing the request.

Throw Another Illumina Orb at the Crystabloom

After the Starmie shows up and stands beside the crystabloom, throw another Illumina orb at the crystabloom. This time, Starmie will also receive the Illumina glow and strike a pose. Snap a photo of Starmie now and fulfill the request!

Thank you! You could also use an Illumina orb to wake Starmie up, and you only need to wake up one of them! - New Pokemon Snap Walkthrough Team

There are two Starmies hidden in the sand before the ruins at the bottom of the sea. Both need to found by the Lumineons. The second Starmie will be chased and eventually end up near the Crystabloom. Light the bloom and the Starmie will start to glow. The picture is better after the light has gone out.
