Welcome to Game8's Marvel's Avengers Walkthrough Wiki! Our writers are putting out new guides as quickly as possible! Have a look at any of the guides below to get started!
Version 1.08 Is here!
This is a guide on how to farm Upgrade Modules in Marvel's Avengers (game). Read on to find the best missions and ways to farm the Upgrade Module resource.
List of Contents
Upgrade Modules are a rare resource in the game used for buying additional fragments but more importantly, it is used to upgrade high level gear.
All gear that reaches 130 Power and still has some room for upgrades will require a specified number of Upgrade Modules. Thus, Upgrade Modules are essential in order to reach the maximum power for any hero.
Upgrade Modules can be found at times in strongboxes. The better the rarity, the higher the chances of acquiring Upgrade Modules.
Villain Threat Sectors are a type of War Zone with Abomination or Taskmaster boss fights at the end but are not essential to the story itself. Defeating these bosses may award Upgrade Modules.

Elite Hives are post-campaign content that has an assured Upgrade Module reward. Complete them multiple times but be warned, these Hives are one of the most difficult and longest missions in the game.
How to Unlock Hive Missions | List of Hive Missions and Rewards
Both the SHIELD Faction and the Inhuman Alliance Faction shops sell Upgrade Modules at the cost of 250 Fragments. If you have Fragments to spare, then, you can buy from them at the SHIELD Substation Zero and Ant Hill respectively.
Further, if you reach Level 40 in any of the factions, you are given 5 Upgrade Modules as a reward so do your Daily Assignments with them to get your Faction Levels up.
Multiple times along a character's challenge cards are Upgrade Module bundles. Complete Daily and Weekly Challenges to progress your Challenge Cards.
There is no easy way to farm Upgrade Modules but the best way is to complete War Zones that have a high number of silver and gold strongboxes. These strongboxes have a higher chance (though still very low) of dropping rarer resources including Upgrade Modules.
If you are confident enough, Elite Hives have an assured Upgrade Module with each completion. Bring in your best heroes to complete them.
