Version 1.08 Is here!
This is a guide to gear stats in the Marvel's Avengers game. Read on more to find out what the stats mean and how they affect your character!
List of Contents
Characters are powered up mainly in two different ways: the acquisition of skills through leveling up and the increasing of stats via gear improvement. However, there are a lot of different aspects of gear that you must first understand before figuring out which is the best.
Power is the direct damage/defense an item gives you depending on the slot. There are four slots: Melee, Ranged, Defense, and Heroic.
Melee | Increases Melee Damage |
---|---|
Ranged | Increases Ranged Damage |
Defensive | Increases Overall Defense |
Heroic | Increase Heroic Attack Damage |
Depending on the slot, the power of the items will directly affect one of those stats of your hero.
Some items give bonuses to attributes, and you can see the effects of these attributes by pressing R3 (PS4) or Z (PC). They are listed below.
Might | Increases Melee Damage |
---|---|
Precision | Increases Ranged Damage |
Proficiency | Increases Critical Hit Chance and Perk Activation Chance |
Valor | Increases Effectiveness of Heroics and Critical Damage |
Resolve | Increases Max HP and Recovery |
Resilience | Increases Armor |
Intensity | Increases Stun/Status Damage and Status Resistance |
Not only does gear give you stat upgrades, it also gives you perks that have unique effects depending on the weapon.
These range from elemental damage like Gamma or Explosion to various beneficial effects like Charge Burst for heroics. Gear will have better Perks based on its rarity, so be sure and trade out common gear for ones you find with better effects!
Gear comes in different rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. The rarer a gear item, the more times it can be boosted to increase its Power Level and Strength!
Rarity | # of Boosts |
---|---|
Common | 0 |
Uncommon | 3 |
Rare | 5 |
Epic | 10 |
Boosting costs resources however, so boost wisely! Depending on the type of gear, the type of resource you need to boost will also differ. By looking at the bottom of the Gear screen, you can see exactly how many of each resource you currently have. These can be found in missions, or obtained by dismantling your unused gear.
If you have enough resources, you can upgrade a Gear by hovering the cursor over it and holding □. Each time you do this, its Power Level will increase by 1. In addition, Attributes can raise, and for rarer gear, extra gear perks can be unlocked.
