This guide will show you how to switch characters in the Marvel Avengers's game. Learn how to change characters before and during a mission and select the character you want to play as!

How to Switch Characters

Select at the Start of a Mission

As of now there is only one way to change characters, and that is in the mission prep screen after selecting a mission from the war table. You can choose your hero there, but not during the segment where you roam the Chimera.

To get to the character select screen, select a mission. You will then be taken to a screen where you get to choose your heroes and their companions. Press □ to select a hero as a companion, press X to change into that hero.

Switching Characters Mid Mission

Once a mission has begun, you will not be able to change characters until completing or quitting that mission.

Who Can You Play As?

You can only change into heroes you have unlocked. In the beta, that includes Ms. Marvel, Hulk. Iron Man, and Black Widow. In the full game, you will be able to play as any character you have unlocked for most missions, although there may be certain missions where your character roster is limited.
