Pre-installing Version 2.7 is currently available from December 02, 2025 (UTC-5) until the Honkai Star Rail Version 2.7 release.

The file sizes added for pre-installing may vary depending on the language pack installed. You will need more space if you have more language packs. You also need to update the app itself before you can start playing!

On the PC launcher, click the Pre-Install button on the bottom right corner.

Click the Download button to start pre-installing.

The Pre-Install button will say Completed once you've already pre-downloaded the latest update.

On PC, players can play the game while pre-installing.

Launch the mobile app and click the Resource Pre-Download button on the bottom right corner.
2 Honkai Star Rail - Mobile Pre Install Confirmation
Click the confirm button to start pre-downloading.
3 Honkai Star Rail - Mobile Done Pre Installing
You will see an icon with a checkmark when the game is done pre-installing the latest update.

On mobile devices, players cannot play the game during the pre-installation process.
