Head to the Master Control Zone
Teleport to the Master Control Zone. Although you're supposed to tell Asta about Ruan Mei's departure, she will be missing from the area. You'll get messaged by the Herta Surveillance Team instead.
Go to Herta's Office
Head to Herta's office to investigate the matter. The screen will turn black, but you'll quickly find yourself in a different room. Asta and Screwllum will introduce you to Dr. Ratio, the masked man you met previously in the Seclusion Zone.
Recall Asta's Troubles
Asta, Screwllum, and Dr. Ratio are investigating the attack, so they'll ask you to recall your recent activity. In the Memory Backtrack, interact with the Memory Bubble nearby to recall your conversation with Asta.
Talk to Hinkel
In the memory, Asta will mention Hinkel and another name that's too hazy to make out. Find Hinkel standing by the advertising bots and she'll tell you to look for Adler. You will also get a Cognition Chasm: Confidence Crisis.
Recall Arlan's Investigation
Interact with the Memory Bubble again to recall your memory of meeting Arlan. After a brief conversation, he will accompany you in looking for Adler.
Save Adler from the Enemies
Follow the quest marker and you'll spot Adler being attacked. Defeat the enemies to progress the quest! This fight shouldn't be too difficult, especially if you have Fire characters on your team.

Ask Adler About the Curio
Now that Adler's safe, you can ask him about the Curio you're trying to look for. Unfortunately, the memory will still be too hazy so you'll need to head back to the memory of Asta's troubles.
Present Confidence Crisis to Asta
Talk to Asta again in the memory and you'll be prompted to use a Cognition Chasm. Submit Cognition Chasm: Confidence Crisis to get Cognition Chasm: Researchers' Disappearance.
Identify Emily as the Other Researcher
Next, you'll need to look for the other researcher you've consulted. Interact with the Memory Bubble to recall Herta's assignment again and listen in on the researchers talking in the office.
Talk to Emily at the Base Zone
Head back to the memory of Asta's troubles and you can now interact with Emily at the Base Zone. After joining the conversation, you will get Cognition Chasm: The Xianzhou Alliance.
Return to Arlan and Adler
Return to the memory of Arlan's investigation and use the Cognition Chasms you got. Submit Cognition Chasm: Researchers' Disappearance to Arlan and Cognition Chasm: The Xianzhou Alliance to Adler respectively.
After conversing with them both, you'll get Cognition Chasm: Spontaneous Human Combustion from Arlan and Cognition Chasm: Energy Lifeform from Adler.
Present Energy Lifeform to Herta
Go back to the memory of Herta's assignment and present Cognition Chasm: Energy Lifeform to Herta. You'll finally remember that the Curio is actually an energy lifeform related to the Genius Society.
Counter Dr. Ratio's Questioning
Despite your recount of the events, Dr. Ratio will remain suspicious of you. You'll have to counter his arguments by presenting items as evidence in a debate.
How to Win the Debate Against Dr. Ratio

Get Arlan's Assistance
Once the questioning is over, the Herta Surveillance Team will send news footage of the Annihilation Gang taking responsibility for the attacks. Head to the Master Control Zone to get Arlan's help. You'll receive Clue: Missing Researcher List after the conversation.
Get Evidence from Wen Shiling
Look for Wen Shiling who's also in the Master Control Zone. After talking to her, Pamela and Dan Heng will also message you about their findings. You will receive three more clue items this way.
Discuss the Clues with the Team
Head back to the meeting place in the Seclusion Zone to discuss your findings with Asta and Screwllum. You'll need to present items again for specific statements to progress.

Enter the Exploratory Excursion
Interact with Screwllum to enter the Exploratory Excursion where you'll track down the Escaped Infernal Fire. Physical, Wind, and Imaginary characters are recommended for this Excursion. Take note that Dr. Ratio will be a part of the team as a trial character.
Use the Fire Walls
Follow the quest markers and use the fire walls to teleport towards the infernal fire. Once you end up back in the corridor, take a right turn and use the one there.
Head Up the Stairs
You'll be brought to the area housing many plants. Head up the stairs to find the infernal fire again and keep following the quest marker to track it down. When you're back in the central area, use the fire wall on the right side.
Defeat the Infernal Fire
Once you spot the infernal fire, it will teleport away again. Since it's getting weaker, you'll just need to follow it once more. After catching up to it, the infernal fire will engage in battle with you. This fight shouldn't be too hard as long as you brought the right elements.

Watch the Cutscene Unfold
After exiting the Exploratory Excursion, you'll have a brief conversation with Screwllum and receive a message from the Herta Surveillance Team. A cutscene between Screwllum and Dr. Ratio will then wrap up the quest!

Divine Verso, Mundane Recto Achievement
You will also unlock the Divine Verso, Mundane Recto achievement for finishing all of the Crown of the Mundane and Divine Trailblaze Continuance missions.
