Light Design in the Express is a timed quest in Honkai: Star Rail. Players will need to complete the quest within 4 hours after receiving it in order to get its related quest rewards.
To unlock Light Design in the Express, players will need to speak to Pom-Pom in the Astral Express. When speaking to them, choose the option to ask What's wrong? to get the quest.
Note: Pom-Pom quests are random. There is no guarantee that you will get Light Design in the Express when speaking to the sad Pom-Pom.

| 1 | Speak to Pom-Pom in the Parlor Car of the Astral Express and ask them, "What's wrong?" |
| 2 | Pom-Pom will ask you what you think about the lights of the Astral Express. Answer them using any of the 3 options to progress the quest. |
| 3 | Pom-Pom will give you 3 options to try: "Disco", "Melancholic", and "Natural". You can try any of them or simply call it a day to finally get the quest, "Light Design in the Express". Note: You do not actually get to see the lights of the Express change color. |
| 4 | After calling it a day, Pom-Pom will leave the final decision of changing the Astral Express lighting to you. Pick between the 3 different options to proceed. |
| 5 | Regardless of your choice, Pom-Pom will always arrive at the same conclusion: that the Astral Express lighting is fine for now. This completes the quest. |
Despite Pom-Pom giving players the option to change the lights of the Astral Express to something Disco, Melancholic, or Natural, the mission will always end with the conductor deciding that there isn't a need to change the lighting yet.
