How to Increase Equilibrium Level

Complete Trials of Equilibrium

Honkai Star Rail - Trial of the Equilibrium Part One Enemies
You will have to reach level 20 and complete the "Not Good With Farewells" quest to unlock the first trial, where you will face strong enemies.

It's also important to note that increasing your Equilibrium Level will make your enemies stronger, so make sure your characters are all leveled up and are given proper equipment.

What is the Equilibrium Level?

Unlocks Ascension Requirements

Honkai Star Rail - Character Ascension Requirement
Uncapping your character and Light Cone's max level will require you to finish Trials of Equilibrium since Ascension will need you to reach certain Equilibrium Levels for it to unlock.

It also locks you out from enhancing your character's traces since they require you to be at a certain character ascension.

Expanded Difficulty Options

Honkai Star Rail - Echoes of War
As you increase your Equilibrium Level, difficulties that were previously locked in activities such as Cavern of Corrosion, Echoes of War, and Stagnant Shadows will be available as soon as you finish the trials.

Taking on harder difficulties will grant you more rewards and increase the likelihood of getting a 5-star rarity item.

Enemies you encounter in the open world map will also have their levels change, effectively increasing their difficulty to match your character's max level.

You must level up your characters and give them proper equipment before deciding to take on the Trials of Equilibrium to avoid getting overwhelmed as you continue your progression through the game.
