Chaos in the Deep is the first quest within the Prologue Trailblaze Mission, Today Is Yesterday's Tomorrow! This is where you will choose your main character for the entire game.

| 1 | Chaos In the Deep will begin as soon as you start Honkai: Star Rail. It will be the first mission of the Prologue quest chain, Today Is Yesterday's Tomorrow. |
| 2 | The quest will start with a cutscene, then you must fight against the Antimatter Legion using Kafka. |
| 3 | Go through the corridor and enter the interior of the space station. Defeat all the enemies you encounter to progress. |
| 4 | Meet up with Silver Wolf and talk to her. |
| 5 | Use Silver Wolf and Kafka to defeat the next enemies. |
| 6 | When you reach the monitoring room, investigate the two terminals found inside the room. |
| 7 | Talk to Silver Wolf again and wait for her to hack and find the Stellaron. |
| 8 | Interact with the Curio to unravel the Monitoring Room and locate the Stellaron. |
| 9 | Investigate the screen, then get the Stellaron with Silver Wolf's help. |
| 10 | Choose your Main Character. Pick between Stelle (Female) or Caelus (Male). Add your desired name, then proceed with the story. |
| 11 | Finish the cutscenes with Kafka, then March 7th and Dan Heng to proceed with the next quest. |
