See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Fargus will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
The best IVs for Fargus are +Atk and -Spd. Fargus' Atk is very high at base 47, and is applied twice through Corsair Cleaver's guaranteed follow-up attack. Boosting Atk allows Fargus to land heavy hits and defeat his foes with ease.
Fargus' Spd and Res are merely average. Unfortunately, average Spd is not good enough to compete with fast metagame units, while more Res is always helpful should Fargus run into mages. Thus, Spd is the bane of choice.
We recommend +Atk when merging Fargus up to +10 to ensure his attacks deal the most damage possible.

This build allows Fargus to soak physical damage for the team. The sustain from both Finish and Bulwark allows Fargus to restore HP after every combat to remain healthy throughout multiple engagements. Atk Smoke 4 provides bonuses to trigger Atk/Def Ideal while also denying follow-up attacks to help keep Fargus healthy.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Fargus is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Fargus comes with his own exclusive axe in Corsair Cleaver. This versatile axe grants Atk/Def+6 and the Orders warping buff to Fargus and all allies within 3 spaces of Fargus at the start of each turn.
In combat, Corsair Cleaver grants Fargus Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5, a guaranteed follow-up attack, and neutralizes effects that slow down his Special cooldown charges and effects that speed up his foe's Special cooldown charges.
Corsair Cleaver can provide both support and in-combat effects, making it a great weapon for a modern day unit.
Fargus has the unfortunate dilemma of having an average Spd stat; not enough to prevent follow-up attacks against modern day speedy units, but too much against slow, bulky units.
It is better to simply ignore his Spd stat and focus on improving his other stats.

I feel like his inheritance is better than 3*, at least IMO. I've been waiting forever to get infantry pulse fodder. I've been playing since Christmas 2023, & i only have Tina that has this skill. I know there are divine codes with it, but only 2 in normal 5 (on a row i don't plan/need to unlock, & it takes 2400 for ced). i don't want to spend tier 5 on old manuals, so didn't look beyond the 400 column on those). Infantry pulse 3 is useful to help unlock more skills from heroes w inf pulse 4.

I take that back, actually. Because i haven't had anyone with infantry pulse 3, i didn't realize it only works on the 1st turn. If it worked every turn, it would be very useful, still, IMO. I was thinking the tier 3 version could still help me, but i was wrong.
