Summer Vaike's Spd is in this awkward area where investment won't be enough to prevent follow-up attacks against the fastest metagame foes, while being excessive to outspeed the slower metagame units. Spd is a safe bane to take as it will not impact most of his matchups.

+Def for a +10 merge

We recommend a +Def IV when merging Summer Vaike up to +10. Def is a superboon and combining both it and the bonus stats from merges, dragonflowers, and weapon refinement can increase his Def up to base 51, which is high enough to tank attacks from physical heavy hitters.

This build utilizes Vaike's high Atk/Def stats to function as a tank unit. Atk/Def Bulwark prevents foes from getting past Vaike, while all four of Arcane Downfall, Atk/Def Finish, Atk/Def Bulwark, and Breath of Life 4 provide sustain to ensure Vaike remains healthy.
